I am loving this black and white with the added texture of baskets and woven pieces. So simply fabulous. I think it takes a certain level of control to keep to a wonderful color scheme like this and to make it work well. Love love the striped rugs!

I totally agree: lots of restraint there. Usually black is a bit strong / heavy for me, but I really love how it works in those rooms. Perhaps because the rooms are so lofty, airy and open? The black, to me, seems to ground the spaces.

I am a bit ambivalent about the current trend for black but I could really live in this interior. I think it is the vast, white ceiling which is reflecting so much light.

I love the 3rd image! I'm not keen on black but if it is used in a large room with white I find it quite appealing.

Wish I could be this edited in my home but colour is insistent.
You can get similar pendants at Koskela in Sydney, and Ikea has a more basic version.
